The Conference Dinner for AIVC Congress attendees will take place in the legendary “Hotel New York” in Rotterdam. Located in the iconic former headquarters of the Holland-America Line, the Hotel New York takes its guests on a journey through space and time, a meeting with a living part of human history: a unique life experience that participants will definitely enjoy.

Dating from 1901, this historic landmark entered a new era, being given new purpose with the opening of Hotel New York. Despite numerous improvements, the building still reflects its rich history, shaped in part by the hopes and dreams of thousands of migrants who embarked on a new adventure from here; a life in the land of opportunity: America.

Visiting Hotel New York, you relive the history itself, and at the same time, you can admire the beautiful sunset, the coming and going of the cruise ships, dynamic water traffic on the Meuse, and, above all, the beautiful view of Rotterdam.

During your stay you will came across with famous sights, the identity of Hotel New York. The souvenir shop, located at the restaurant entrance, is the place for unique souvenirs: from linens to tompouce pastry, from postcards to crockery, from T-shirts to toys. The unique Van Gennep bookshop, sells informative, funny, special travel, children’s books, and cookbooks. You will also find postcards and toiletries for forgetful travelers. The New York Barbershop, located in the basement of the Hotel New York, is a traditional “men’s only” barbershop and a family business since 1884. Besides perfect cutting sections, extensive shaving treatments are also given.

The final destination is the NY Basement, a new restaurant with a traditional spirit, both hip and historical, with a nod to the Twenties and Thirties in New York City. Exciting cocktails and culinary creations in the atmosphere of pre-war Manhattan, with stylish ornaments and colorful patterns, an equally hip and historic interior. Due to its atmosphere, quality and service, the NY Basement is the new Rotterdam spot for a drink with colleagues or a dinner with family, friends, or business partners.

The Balszaal Hall

The Balszaal, Hotel New York’s largest room, named after cinema legend Hubert Bals, will host the Conference Dinner for AIVC Congress attendees. It is an atmospheric room, thanks to chandeliers, wooden floors, and tall windows offering a view of the Maas.

A giant map is painted on the wall, showing the route taken by the Holland America Line’s ships when travelling from Rotterdam to New York.

This hall is eminently suited for large business meetings and festive occasions. Thanks to the tall windows, the room gets plenty of natural light and provides a grand view of the Euromast.

The dinner cost for attendees is set at 79 euros per person.
